What NEECA Does

Supports the establishment of dedicated Energy Efficiency & Conservation Cells at all DISCOs and gas utilities, providing efficiency a permanent home by 2024.

Designs and delivers capacity building programs for utility staff on a continuous basis, ensuring efficiency knowledge stays in-house long after projects end.

Works alongside Provincial Designated Agencies (PDAs) to extend this structural support to utilities across the country.

Tracks progress through clear indicators, monitoring the number of Cells established and efficiency programmes launched on both supply and demand sides.

Why It Matters

This groundwork supports the power sector's target of reducing T&D losses from 20% to 14%, an estimated saving of 0.8 MTOE of energy and around 4.6 MTCO₂ in emissions every year, worth close to USD 1.83 billion annually.
